Children Birthday Party Games

By Freddy McCandless

For small boys and girls, a birthday party would not be complete without party games. So whether you have a tiny tot or if your tiny celebrant is not so little anymore, here are a couple of games that you should check out.

Pre-Schoolers

When it comes to the tiniest of the bunch, you can not go wrong with musical chairs. Simple enough for a pre schooler to do but super interesting for even the adults. For the set up, arrange chairs in a circle. There should be one more player than the number of chairs. When the music is playing, dance around the chairs, then when the music stops, hurry to sit on one. Whoever remains standing is out of the game. With every round, someone loses, a chair is gotten rid of, up until there are 2 players fighting over one chair. The person sitting when the music dies is the winner.

Another game really good for pre-shcoolers is balloon pop. Basically, what you hear is what you get. All you have to do is release balloons in a wide space and allow the tiny tots go nuts jumping and popping them. But, if you want this game to be more competitive, you can break down the players into teams. The team to pop all of the balloons first is the winner.

Games For 5-8 Year Olds

Newspaper dance is always a big hit. You pair the tiny tots up and give them a newspaper. Play some music and have the children dance around the paper. Then when the music fades, both have to fit their feet on the newspaper. You fold the newspaper in half with each turn. Any pair that falls or if even just one player's foot is touching the ground is out. The last pair standing is the winner.

One other game that is done by pairs is funny bone. You let the two players connect specific body parts that you call out. For example, the finger is connected to the ear. So A will get his finger and make it touch B's ear. Sounds simple, but the players have to sustain their poses through the course of the game unless the same body part is used again. Pairs who fall or fail to comply are out. The lasting pair is the winner.

Games for 9-12 Year Old Kid

One game that always stirs up a lot of fun is a scavenger hunt. This is just the type of game that appeals to older ones , but if played in teams, the younger ones can join too. Basically, you have to prepare clues and tasks that lead to other clues and tasks. The players will also be given a check list of things that they have to complete along the way. The team to complete everything on the list first is the winner.

The longest line is super fun and super simple. This game, also done in teams, is basically about making the longest line- using bodies, clothes, shoelaces, or practically anything the players can find. You can even set the rues on what can be used in the game. There should be an allotted amount of time, let's say about five minutes. When time is up, the team with the longest line is the winner. You will need a big space for this game though.

These are a few of the most popular children birthday party games there are. Hopefully, these will be able to help you make your kiddos party a day full of fun and activities he will cherish forever.
