Finding the Best Digital Camera Under 200 Dollars

By William Odom

If you are decided to get your hand on the best digital camera under 200, you will first need to determine what features you are looking for. This will save you time and energy before you even get out of your house. The thing is, a large number of the best digital camera under 200 possess very comparable features.

You should know whether or not you'll want to use video. Some cameras come in a variety of colors and others have a very basic selection. The amount of resolution you want and the size of the camera are more options to keep in mind.

If you travel a lot, the Fujifilm Finepix XP30 could be a good choice. It goes up to 16.4 feet deep under water. It can record video under water as well. For those living in Nordic countries, the Finepix can work in temperatures as low as 14 Fahrenheit. It could also be a good fit if you tend to be tough on your equipment. It can fall up to 4.9 feet without getting a scratch.

Other features include 14 mega pixels of resolution, a 5x optical zoom lens and a 2.7" LCD screen for viewing pictures. It is similar to the Fujifilm Finepix X190, but with a few improvements. It comes in blue, black, green, orange and silver.

The Olympus SP-610UZ has two interesting things about it. For a smaller, cheaper camera, it has a lot of zoom. A 22x (28-616 mm) optical zoom lens is two to five times the zoom on most other digital cameras under 200. The other neat feature is that you can create 3D images with this camera. Take a picture of the same scene from two slightly different angles. Once created, the two files can be combined into an .MPO file which becomes a 3D picture.

The Olympus SP-610UZ is similar to the SP-600UZ model but with some improvements. It is equipped with a 3-inch LCD screen and has a 14MP resolution. Although it allows you to record videos in 720p HD, it only comes in two colors: silver and black

The Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS, on the other hand, comes in a much more colorful palette. It is available in silver, black, orange or pink. It is also quite thin measuring only 0.70-inch thick. The PowerShot SD1400 IS has optical image stabilization and a resolution of 14.1 mega pixels. With its 4x optical zoom lens, it is much less impressive that the Olympus, but still comes with a 2.7 inch LCD screen.

Although many other good models of camera are available in this price range, the three mentioned above represent those with some of the best features. Obviously, it all depends on your needs and preferences. It is worth taking the time to evaluate the pros and cons of each other to make sure that you pick the best digital camera under 200.
