Nobody Is Safe, frightening flick possessed by badness

By Jay Hones

"The Devil Inside' ' usefully reminds us how little it takes to make a few individuals scream in acrowded picture theater. Just cut to a drop of a clergyman standing in a corner looking like a zombie, or to a woman's body folding itself backward in half.

The Devil Inside is the latest in the allegedly never-ending supply of "found footage" fake documentaries that present themselves as cobbled together from the artifacts of a hapless filmmaker on an especially doomed project.

A lady confesses to a triple killing and is ultimately shipped to a surgery for the criminally insane in Rome with ties to the Vatican. (It's seemingly no major deal for an American citizen to be extradited to an Italian mental

mental treatment for a crime committed in Connecticut.) Twenty years later, the woman's girl travels to Italy to find out if her mummy is indeed mentallypsychologically unwell or possessed. There is of course a cameraman in tow and after walking into a class for exorcists, they team up with two young monks who practice their own strategies outside anythe axioms of the church.

mental treatment for a crime committed in Connecticut.) some twenty years on, the woman's daughter travels to Italy to find if her mother is indeed mentally sick or possessed. And there is not surpricingly a cameraman in tow and after walking into a class for exorcists, they team up with a couple of young priests who practice their own techniques outside any guidelines of the church.

The only frightening thing about The Devil Inside is how easily so many moviegoers wasted money on it. A total stinker, it nevertheless enjoyed a giant opening weekend, exceeding box office prophecies by far. The many who made the unprofitable investment of purchasing a ticket to it should feel horribly ripped off.

I stopped caring right around the time that the film made it clear that "The Vatican", as showed here, was fundamentally a James Bond-style criminal conspiracy & therefore able of such things as stealing a lady from the US. The Devil Inside movie is a top contender for worst main line release of 2012.
