Art Shows What Are They For?

By John Mason

Amateur artist should know the importance of art competition for painting for beginners. Some artists are not favour of in joining art competitions because they don't like the idea that someone wins and the other loses because it gives the impression that the winner is a better artist compared with the rest.

For them art is a technique of self expression and in expressing yourself there isn't any one who is better than the other. Since each artist is unique in expressing their creativeness and dexterity thus there is no way to judge which art work is better and which are not. However other artists who joined many art competitions have different point of perspectives.

For them joining an art competition is not about winning and it isn't about the prizes as their first point of joining is to establish a link with other artists and publicize their pieces of art. Art competitions are more than just bagging the prizes as almost all of the artists who joins these competitions do not mind whether or not they win or lose.

All of them joined art competitions to have an excellent time and befriend other artists and share experiences with them. Art competitions should not be taken negatively, if we are to take a look at it in a different standpoint when an artist creates his or her art works he or she is restrained in a studio so there's not much probability that he or she will be able to meet with other artists.

Art competitions are one of the best paths to know other artists by their styles, strategies and philosophy in art. Art competitions is a sort of gathering other artists together and its nature is to test every artist to make the best art work that they can make. Art competitions intends to add excitement to art as it urges artists to shine in their fields of art.
