The best nightlife spots in the world

By Jarvis Finch

No matter where you go, so long as you go with the right people, and with the right attitude, you're bound to have a great time. There are, however, certain night clubs where you can't but have a superb time. Something about the music, the atmosphere, and the aesthetic makes a great club night unforgettable. What follows is a brief look at the best clubbing spots in the world.

Manchester is a place that many hold dearly in their heart for its clubbing culture. In fact, it is widely regarded as one of the places in which clubbing was originated. Back in the late eighties and early nineties, it was at the Hacienda that people first started turning up just to hear DJs, and out of that the 'Madchester' movement was born. Now, places like Sankeys are known the world over for their distinctive atmosphere, and incredible roster of world class DJs.

Another great place for partying is Brazil. Rio is an excellent city for this purpose, fo they annually put on what is probably the most famous carnival season in the world. In addition, however, Brazil is also home to nightclubs that rival the world's best, such as Warung, and excellent nightclub which happens to be flanked by the sea, as well as the rainforest.

The nightclub 'The Guvernment', in Canada, is definitely worth a mention. It was nominated for Best Global Club in the International Dance Music Awards. It can hold over four thousand people, and has hydraulic light grids, and nine different rooms, each of which has its own distinctive flavour.

It would be criminal to talk about the best night life haunts in the world without mentioning Ibiza. Though it is often dismissed for being way too expensive, the super clubs there have to be experienced to be understood. Perhaps the best is Pacha, which has five rooms that are so disparate, it will make your head spin; one room is actually a sushi restaurant! There you can hear some of the most renowned DJs play sets.
