If You Are Passionate About Food, You Will Love Eating Out In Bristol

Bristols location in the beautiful south west region makes it a great location for a break. Bristols position on the Severn Estuary with its historic dock and famous floating harbour, give it a strong maritime feel.

Over the past few years the ever expanding number of excellent quality restaurants and cafes have given Bristol it's reputation for fine cuisine.

There is no shortage of things to do in Bristol and the surrounding area as there is plenty on offer. There are excellent shopping centres, several large theatres, a planetarium and even a zoo!

The busy docks of Bristol welcomed a huge amount of exotic goods, spices and foods from all over the world for hundreds of years and this exotic influence is very evident today in the cities great food establishments.

Once you start to taste some of the great cuisine in the cities eateries you will soon know why this area is so popular with foodies. You will have no end of choice with the vast array of culinary styles and flavours available to you with something for everyone. Take your pick from Portuguese, Chinese, West Indian, Thai, Moroccan, Spanish or Indonesian the list just goes on and on.

There is excellent quality food to be found at St Nicholas Market, the oldest market in the city, making this a great spot for a combination of shopping and a meal. Here you can sample and taste produce of all kinds, both local and exotic. Any trip to the south west, has to include a cream tea. Homemade scones, clotted cream and jam are a well loved tradition. They might be loaded with calories but most people agree they are worth it!

Some other local treats to look out for include regionally produced cheeses like Exmoor blue and some of the best cheddar you will ever taste. This traditionally agricultural area produces some of the finest quality meat produce in England.

You will also find farms solely dedicated to producing cider. There are many farm shops and food markets in and around Bristol that give individuals the chance to buy wonderful quality products, directly from the producers themselves and learn interesting information about the way the various products have been produced.

Accomodation and food in Bristol is inexpensive and its quality will not fail to impress you. Pay a visit to this wonderful city and see for yourself what it is on offer.
