A Review of Black And White Photography

By Amos Navarro

You know, you will find that there is most certainly more artistic about black and white photography. I realize I get a little away from the overall notion of digital photography. However as being a photographer, you are going to no doubt encounter the phenomenon which is black and white photography.

Many of you may be telling yourselves that color photography has surely taken the place of black and white photography, and I would state that for the most part you are correct. A unique note here is that black and white photography still holds a degree of nostalgia generally in most photographers, amateur and professional alike. Perhaps one cause for this nostalgia is of course that photography was first adopted black and white film.

Not only that, but many photography students are given the job of taking black and white photos when they are of their first photography classes. I understand during my first digital photography class I'd been amazed at the very idea. Only later when the photos were developed did I seriously come to appreciate black and white photos.

Therefore, if you are an amateur and even experienced photographer, I might encourage you to give black and white photography an attempt. There's no doubt that you can be pleasantly surprised at the level of sophistication it requires to actually pull off an incredible black and white photo. You then might possibly take in some advanced photos for example adding one stream of color.

Possibly you have seen these kinds of photos before in the event the photographer allows one color to be really evident in a black and white photo. For instance I'll remember a photo of a little girl in a black and white photo; however the coat she was wearing was bright pink. It was great moment to capture.

In terms of taking the black and white photos themselves, more advanced digital cameras have gray-scale mechanisms that enable to this. You can even have the color picture converted using a digital photography software such as "Photoshop." Allow yourself the possibility in black and white photography. I believe you'll be pleasantly impressed in the results.
