With regards to word-building games, scrabble is known as an icon. This is a classic game played by lots of people for several years now. Today, there are already several computer versions of it. One of which is the highly popular Words with Friends, that's created by Zynga with Friends. Although the game is not formally related to scrabble, the policies of Words with Friends are very much the same with those of scrabble. Players can play with their opponents on the web through Facebook. Up to twenty games can even be enjoyed simultaneously, wherein a player is just informed for his turn. It is so famous that there are now websites providing Words For Words With Friends, in case a gamer requires assistance. Besides a few differences, the game still involves giving each player seven tiles, that are replenished until all 104 tiles are utilized. Players take turns developing words on the scrabble board, or they can also pass a turn or swap one of their tiles. The game stops when all tiles are used or when you made 3 straight scoreless moves, such as making a pass or exchanging a tile. The player with the highest score at the end of the game is the winner.

Boggle

The traditional procedure of playing Boggle requires shaking a cube having sixteen dices, which have letters printed on them, and letting the dices settle on their holders in the cube randomly. Players jot down as many words as they can find from all 16 dices in horizontal, vertical or diagonal directions within three minutes. Nonetheless, in the computer version of the game, you only have yourself to compete with. Your score is then saved on the web, as well as your username and the flag symbol of your country. While there's no definite winner on the online version, players are motivated to do really well with the game since the names of the top 10 players are displayed along with their country's flag. This particular game is played by clicking the "start" key. After which, a grid with sixteen letters will then appear. You type in the words that you find on the grid and click the button that says "accept". The game will end after three minutes and your ranking will be displayed, wherein you'll also be asked to type in your name. In this web based edition of Boggle, besides formulating words fast, players will also have to type fast to save time.

Word Builder

Word Builder is a personal computer word game wherein you also have yourself to play against. In this kind of game, letters appear at the end portion of the screen one line after another. Your job is to click and link letters to form a word and make those letters vanish from the screen. The challenge here is to locate words as quickly as you can before the letters achieve the top of the screen, which will cause the game to finish. Furthermore, the gamer is also challenged to find long words for a higher score. Your score will also be stored on the web, wherein you can also find a list of other top participants of the game.

Some online games allow gamers to chat with other participants of the game. They can also ask for tips and advice.
