A government that takes care of people is one that listens to their needs, addresses their grievances, looks out for the interest of everyone and treats all as equals. This kind of government certainly does not and has never existed in the past. Oppressed people usually resort to demonstrations presently and in the past as seen in the sepoy mutiny of 1857.
This was a revolt that occurred in India at that time under the Imperial British regime. This happened between the British and the native Indians who had been converted into an army to serve the regime. It is understood that many reasons had built up to trigger this revolt but the immediate cause was after they felt their religion had been directly undermined.
Other causes point at political, social, economic, military and religious factors. The foreigners had imposed their values, believes and lifestyle taking for granted the practices of the natives. Their bid to get rid of some of the practices angered the natives.
Politically, several independent kingdoms had been annexed into the empire colony in a bid for expansion. The prices were rooted out of their kingdoms making them insecure and breeding resentment. High levels of corruption created further unrest as the natives wanted to get rid of them.

They murdered their families and targeted their property. Blood was shed, roofs went ablaze all this in a bid to save their nation.
