The Different Kinds Of Work Gloves

By Minnie Whitley

Hazards are actually present everywhere, but they are most evident in the work place. Maybe for certain jobs, they may not be so obvious. But with occupations such as construction workers, scientists, firemen, and other dangerous fields, there must really be precautionary measures to be taken in order to prevent any kind of injury.

Taking this dangerous case into account, the protective gears were created to get workers unharmed. One of the protective gears which are worn by workers in order to protect the part of the body which is most used in order to complete the task which is the hand. This kind of protective garment is no other than the work gloves.

But those aside, there are also individuals who use gloves to protect themselves from mild chemical elements such as soap and other light chemical substances because of genetic factors such as allergies. However, these protective gears cannot prevent hand accidents to happen. But with safe practices and proper selection of the kind of garment for the work, you can avoid hazards.

Speaking of this, there are many different kinds. The first one is the disposable gloves. These are made from trivial plastic and their goal is to secure the hands from the mild irritants such as detergent soap. This type of muffs is recommended for those individuals who have skin allergy and are sensitive to cleaning agents. Aside from that, they are used in food handling as well.

There is also the fabric muffs. This is different from those used for fashion. This one is used in order to better the grip on slippery objects. Aside from that, they also keep your hands insulated so heat and cold will not be felt. There is also the leather gloves. These muffs are made to protect the hands from rough materials and electricity.

There is also the rubber muffs. This is made up of thick rubber mainly to support the hands from strong acids and chemical substances like petroleum based products. They are mainly used by contractors in order not to get dirtied by the grease and maintenance task. While chemists use them to prevent corrosion.

But other than those, doctors also use them frequently especially those that often deal with patients who have contagious diseases. That is because the blood of these patients contain pathogens that are able to invade into the system of another person by mere contact. That is why something as thick and impenetrable like rubber is used.

Also, there is the metal mesh muffs. Thy are used by people who work with dangerous tools such as cutting devices and other sharp materials. While the last one is called the aluminized gloves. These are made to protect the hands from heat. They are specifically made for individuals working with molten objects.

These are the types of muffs used during work in order to protect against specific hazards. However, they are not a guarantee that you will be protected since they are just safety measures. Of course things would still largely depend on how carefully you do your work.
