Choosing Personalized Ornaments For Everyone On Your Gift List

By Mattie Knight

The holiday season is fast approaching, and you really want to try something special during this memorable time. This type of addition, personalized ornaments, to your family tree or those of your friends or other recipients could be the perfect present. It will add much interest and glamour to your interior decor and make all feel very special and included.

The decorations could be made from a variety of materials including glass, clay, ceramic, wood, resin, or more. The names or initials of the person would be prominently displayed on them. They could also be unique shapes or illustrations depicting a special time or special interests.

Make this a lasting and traditional family project and add new and different decor to your tree. Your tree will always be a work in progress each December. Plan a party surrounding this occasion and serve festive drinks and foods. At this time, each individual person can hang their own varieties of ornaments to the branches and boughs. The older guests and family will have the most ornaments after a time.

They also make great gifts for just about anyone. Teachers, mailmen, neighbors, friends, co-workers, bosses, pastors, and many others would be thrilled to receive one of these from you. Include a personal note within the gift to let them know how much they mean to you.

To be personalized doesn't necessarily mean that it must have names and initials inscribed. There are several other occasions that can be celebrated with an item of this type. It could be a first car, graduation, new job, new baby, college, pet, new home, a memorial to a recently deceased individual, or a wedding. Adding the date to these would make them even more memorable and easy to remember. The supply and type to select from is virtually unlimited.

Select those with forms or illustrations that showcase activities or special talents. For example, a child who loves gymnastics can have one in the shape of a gymnast. A swimmer can have his name or initials displayed on a miniature swimmer. Basketball players' names look great on a miniature basketball. The options are endless and the more personal and unique they are, the more impact they will have.

Store all of these after the holidays for easy access for the following year. As you put them away, you will again be able to recall all the special memories associated with each one of them. They will bring forth even more thoughts and memories as you carefully take them down and pack them. Everyone will look forward to seeing them displayed the following year.

Adding these small and special tokens to your tree will make this and future holiday seasons so memorable. It can be a yearly tradition to have a gathering to add these to the real or artificial tree of your choice. If there begins to be too many of these on the branches, add them to garlands and miniature trees around the home. You can even fill a clear glass container of similar items to decorate a coffee table or a side table.
