Mistakes will have to be fewer when you are drawing the figure of somebody else. So, get the right kind of guidance from this article. You should spend more time in criticizing the model. Remember that human figures in pencil are required to resemble anything but an average person. Be certain that one is already familiar with how a drawing is to be placed in a paper. Proportion is everything when one wants to hide most of your imperfections. Do not be afraid to make some sketches since you need to take the first step one way or another. This will also help you with your scaling skills. Just let the word perfection slowly creep on you and have a resident who can be the best judge on how much you have improved. This can be your mentor or closest friend.

Draw fast. You need to feel that small amount of pressure for you not to lose your drive. This is really important when you have only been given with an hour to create your own interpretation of the person in front. Get used to this kind of set up for you to be a better professional when one is already working for somebody else.

Emphasis is needed on those outer lines when you have been asked to focus mainly on the figure. Learn to appreciate the basic curves of the human anatomy. Again, draw for points in the beginning unless you have been given with the freedom to do abstract. Know the time when you have to somehow limit yourself.

You must try to lessen your erasures. Remember that every stroke is important since they tell you on what must not be done next time. So, let them stay where they are and that can even add beauty to your entire work.

Do not forget about those highlights and shadows. Try not to be soft about them if you want to put more drama into your work. You may have to practice accuracy but you still have to let your work reflect your personality. That can be the definite sign that one is really an artist and you have fully embraced it.

You must always go for the entire pose even when one is still a novice. This will further introduce you to the beauty that can be found in the human form. Also, stop listening to other people about what you can do and cannot perform with this project.
