In the 1980s, heavy metal music was all the rage. While there were a number of big hair rock groups, Iron Maiden was considered one of the best. Now, The Iron Maidens, an all female tribute band pays homage to these original rockers.
While the band has gone through a number of different musicians, the current line-up is said to be an amazing set of artists. With two lead guitarists, a bassist, a vocalist and a drummer, it is a cast of women musicians whom have gained a lot of love and respect in the heavy metal community. As such, even with the changes in players over the years, the group has continued to move on toward a vibrant and successful career.
The band started working on a debut album which was finally released in 2005 with Aja Kim replacing Warren on vocals. Once the album was released, there were other changes made to the lineup. While this is the case, the title of the first album remained, The Only All Female Iron Maiden Tribute Band.
In 2007, the group released a second album titled Route 66. While still identifying as an all female group, it is interesting to note that Phil Campbell, guitarist for Motorhead made a special appearance on this album. As a result, sales of this second album were a bit better than the first though still not as good as the group had hoped while in the recording studio. Still, this group of rockers never gave up and continued on playing shows and eventually toured Japan.
In 2010, the group released a DVD, Metal Gathering Live In Japan 2010. After which, Nikki Stringfield became a regular band member and was officially recognized as the band's guitarist. While the DVD was a big hit in Japan, the DVD was not as successful in the United States and other areas.
The question still remains as to whether the group will tour domestically or internationally again in the future. While this is the case, the group does have a few shows scheduled in the United States beginning in February. Whereas, Rosenberg and Stringfield recently appeared on the music game show Beat Shazam in August of 2017.
Even with all the changes in talent over the years, the group remains a main-stay in the heavy metal community. While groups such as Blue Floyd or Lez Zeppelin are more rock and roll than metal, all of these tribute groups have the same goal. The goal, to bring back the music of famous bands of the past. At the same time, it would most likely benefit these bands if current line-ups were to remain the same in the future.
For more information on this all female tribute band, fans can check out videos on YouTube and similar sites. Whereas, there are also photos, a few videos and a great deal of information including show dates, times and locations on the Facebook page dedicated to the band. Whether watching a video, communicating with other fans or attending a live show, fans will no doubt enjoy the nostalgia associated with these bands playing tribute to some of the biggest names in music.
