Fun Moments In The Color Run San Diego

By Willie V. Knoll

The Color Run San Diego is held every year and is made up of a 5K race, tons of bright colors, and a lot of good times. Everyone is welcome to attend as a racer, volunteer, or spectator, but racers will have to sign up ahead of time and pay the fees to be able to participate. A San Diego charity is selected to receive a portion of the money that is gathered during the event.

The race starts at 9:00 AM, and then colors will fly through the air every five minutes following the start of the race. A large quantity of colored corn starch is thrown at the racers by the volunteers on the sidelines, also known as the Color Bomb Squad. There is no need to worry about toxic chemicals in the colors being thrown because the powdered color is just corn starch. After runners finish the race and cross the finish line, they can proceed to throw colors at all of their friends and other runners who have completed the race.

The charity that will surely be benefitting from the Color Run San Diego is named Deaf Community Services of San Diego. This charity was chosen thanks to their goal to enrich the lives of the deaf community through services, education, and advocacy. Other race venues will contribute a portion of their proceeds to a charity that is in that area.

A t-shirt is awarded to all people of the Color Run San Diego. Runners will get a t-shirt celebrating The Art of Running and volunteers will receive a shirt that acknowledges them as a part of the Color Bomb Squad. Registered racers will also get a pair of sunglasses, a race bib, and other gear provided by the sponsors. The event is available to people of all ages, and children under the age of 7 can run in the race at no cost.

The Color Run San Diego is an amazing event for people who like to run or people who would have fun as a volunteer. A local charity receives a part of the money collected from the event each year when the 5K Color Run occurs. People of all ages are allowed to enroll as a racer, volunteer, or a spectator, and the more people that attend, the merrier. At the end of the race, every person will be covered in head to toe with rainbow colors, and everyone will have a chance to eat great food, listen to music, and spend the rest of the day with their friends.
