Globally there is a wide range of dancing styles. Bachata dance which originated from the Dominican Republic is among those styles. There is a close link between bachata music and dancing style. This style of dancing is characterized by slow motion in closed position with dancers closely embracing each other. The original creators of this style were Dominican social dancers. The style developed slowly with time and still continues to evolve. The two distinguishing elements of the original version of bachata is syncopation and soft hip movement. The bouncing could be eliminated or included depending on the playing music.

Salsa is normally confused for Bachata in some cases because of their similarities. Most people are unable to distinguish the movement patterns which appear to be similar but are very different. This style does not involve many turn patterns like its counterpart salsa. Different emotions on the dancing floor can be well expressed if the dancers execute the movements well.

The style has both its good and bad parts. The various sides are as a result of different evolutionary phases which it has undergone. One ugly consequence is that most leader dancers are either deciding to ignore or are unaware of the existing boundaries. As a result incidents of male leaders exploiting the style are slowly rising.

During dancing some leaders usually start initiating intimate contact with dancers of the opposite sex. What they forget is that engaging in bachata dance with someone does not mean they are open for sexual liberties. For instance it is common for male dancers to kiss female dancers on their lips even when such a move is not necessary. When this happens some dancers start keeping off dancing floors even when they previously enjoyed dancing.

To be good at anything a person must do it repeatedly. When in need of becoming good at this social dance style it is recommended to enroll for classes. In such classes students get a chance to be taught by seasoned dancers who have mastered the skills. Classes are about intensive sessions of practice which are attended by both sexes.

One of the reasons trainers set up training centers is promotion and popularization of this particular style of dancing. Besides learning the moves of these romantic dancing style learners are also granted the opportunity to socialize. Intensive training is guaranteed to people who come with partners as well as groups. The needs of learners can be addressed well if they work in close association with trainers. This includes fixing their classes when they are free.

Dancers train for various reasons. It is quite normal for people to train for professional reasons while others do it for fun. Those who enroll for professional reasons must gauge what they acquired by participating in dancing competitions. The ability to decode the mood of the dance floor is one of the criteria which guide judges in awarding points during competitions.
