How To Create A Dance Floor

By Joshua Morgan

A dance floor that is illuminated with LED is a structure that has panels of lights in the tiles that will light up with different wonderful colors. Even with the complexity of the structure, it is still made solely for dancing. Most illuminated floors are being lit by using LEDs. The colors are mainly blue, green and red. The floor itself is constructed of solid square cells and being tiled with acrylics or other tough glasses. The bottoms are reflective and the top will give the color. When it comes with Illuminated Dance Floors, there are many options that individuals can choose.

The structure would be better if it have a cushioned absorbent as a subfloor. Most floors are being constructed on top of concrete. This might be dangerous for dancers. To have safety and comfort, the floor itself must spring to avoid any injuries. The easiest one is to apply dense foam around the structure.

Select the type of plywood. Plywood comes in various styles and types of thickness and wood class. They wood type does not really matter that much in the process. A proper thickness is ideal especially in place where there are other people living along side with you. If noise is not an issue, then choose a thicker class.

Attach both the sheets with a hinge. Putting a hinge will make it easier to move around and store it if not being used. A piano hinge is the most sufficient type because it can accommodate both the boards but attaching smaller ones in multiple sections will do the same. To fasten the hinges, use wood screws. The screws must be shorter than the plywoods thickness. Position the hinge where the board can rest side by side when being opened.

Try putting a round trims. Rounded trims on the corners and edges will reduce stubbed toes, improve the appearance and allows the dancers for a more comfortable step on the edges. When choosing the trims, the pieces should be a little bit longer than the sides. But the thickness should always be the same.

Simply cut the trims to fit right in the corners. Cut at least forty five degrees angles on the pieces of trims to meet the corners of the floors. Make sure the angle is precise and accurate. Cutting the trims in half around the sides will allow them to split up and the floor can be folded.

It is important to use various kinds of materials. Learn all the different materials and how they can be incorporated to your own design. Make sure to purchase high quality materials rather than using low quality types.

Ask your loved ones and friends for consultation. They may have constructed in their own homes a dance floor or have purchased one and installed by the company. They can share their experiences and knowledge on how to properly install one.

Budgeting will be the most important factor. Individuals should know the different prices that companies and manufacturers are selling in the market nowadays. Make sure that the floor is within your budget range. However, if you want the new and improved type, it will be more costly.
