Throughout history, there have been mystics and religions which have regarded the Universe as an example of Divine Expression. There have always been ideas of the Creator being All that Is, both Seen and Unseen. While to scientifically-minded individuals this may seem to be far-fetched, there may be a certain scientific basis supporting such a viewpoint.
One implication would be that all matter would be composed of the same substance. At first glance this does not seem to be true. However, it has now been established that all matter is based on molecules and atoms formed from energy. In fact, all radiations are also a form of energy as is everything else, including thought forms.
So when religions refer to a Creator, all they are really doing is saying that the underlying energy has consciousness. As Science has been unable to determine the origin of consciousness, or even define it clearly, this remains a possibility. After all, it is as likely that the original energy is conscious as that consciousness arose spontaneously at some stage.
Perhaps a stone or a grain of sand is not as obviously conscious as a human being or any other living creature. However, this does not mean that consciousness is limited to living organisms, and certainly not just certain living organisms. Until there is a clear understanding of just what consciousness really is, it is impossible to measure or judge such matters.
Assuming that the whole Universe stems from an expression of Divine Consciousness, helps understand why looking at the heavens can evoke such an impression of its general awesomeness. This serves to stimulating awareness of its true nature. Allied feelings can arise from contemplating other natural marvels, where everything can be viewed as partaking of the miraculous.
However, if everything is composed of elements of Divinity, the implications for all the events that occur are also profound. Human beings, looking from a very limited personal viewpoint, are accustomed to judging events as being beneficial or harmful, based on personal attitude at the time of occurrence. Widening the perspective for evaluating events can change the way something appears completely
Attitudes can be chosen consciously, rather than determined by outdated beliefs. If an event is viewed from nearby, it may seem a problem, because of the limited perspective. Individual judgement of goodness or badness is not an inherent property, but simply an opinion. Narrow perspectives produce similarly constricted opinions. Taking a broader perspective of an event produces a more dispassionate judgement, which is arguably closer to the underlying truth.
Being able to take a holistic view, with every object and event playing a role and being an essential part of the fabric, lends clarity to perceptions. Doing this reduces anxiety, as people are seen less like unwilling victims and more as active participants. An understanding of the implications of Divine Expression can then lead to calm acceptance and greater mental stability, not buffeted by random events.
